At Signature and SimplyBiz, we think that there may be a potentially really significant shake up coming down the line for discretionary managers who are not directly authorised themselves but operating under regulatory hosts - both for the investment firms and for the hosts. Developments could have a reasonable lead time on them but if things go where we think they might, this could have a significant impact on a large number of firms and anyone thinking about setting out on their own to run discretionary money.
